Hi, I just had a door installed from Provia that came with Panolock+, and the center lock isn't locking? Any ideas? I haven't switched it over to a smart lock yet. Still riding dirty with an old school lock and key.

Would have loved to see how the door interfaces with the ADA compliant sill and a better explanation as to why it may not be as weather tight as a traditional raised sill. Really though, it is the best video out there explaining types and limitations.

I like the REEB paint quality and respect it. however, i dont like that im buying a 10k door with thermatru and its being put together with their parts by a 3rd party door assembly company. you would think that thermatru would be the ones putting this door together since its that much, but thats not the case.

I had a PanoLock multi-point system installed with a Wi-Fi keypad. When the door is locked the center is not actually locked and if you depress the lever from inside or outside the center latch is depressed. So in reality it is only a 2 point locking system. My installer told me this is how it is supposed to work but I challenge that as it does not make sense to have 3 locking points if only 2 of them actually lock. I am curious if what I was told is accurate

I did exactly this. And got the wrong door. Now this was a mobile home company, but I looked it up and they were right, at least on another website. They told me whichever side the hinge is on (from the outside of house) is the hand it is. If it hinges on the left and swings IN, it’s a left hand. If it hinges in the left and swings OUT, it’s a left hand reverse. And same for the right. I don’t get how this can be so confused. Costing me a days drive to replace.

I enjoyed watching your explanation about various door sill types but I do not understand one thing. The word composite is referred to many times but I did not hear the definition of the word composite. What is composite? does that mean plastic, fiberglass, a artificial wood? The only thought that I have is it refers to some sort of plastic. Sorry, I'm am not an industry person. Thank you for the explanation otherwise.

Looks easy. However, I have a sliding glass door facing west that have had the film on for maybe 15 years. I have used a hair dryer to help remove the film and some Windex with ammonia, but it has been a challenge!

Thank-you for your superb video addressing this murky point. Your metric of standing with your back to the hinges in order to determine handing seems like a stroke of genius compared with other approaches. There seems to be so much confusion and obfuscation online regarding the difference between left handed and right handed locks. I have just ordered a replacement lock to replace a worn out lock on a door which swings outwards and has its hinges on the right hand side as observed from outside the door. I have ordered a Left handed mortise lock to replace this lock, if you could confirm that I have ordered the right lock that would be GREATLY appreciated. 👍

are doors typically delivered like that to a job site? when I contacted the manufacturer they told me the painters put that on...they did not, they came that way, they are denying that they were delivered with the black tape. I am finally trying to take the tape off, it is very difficult, as they were installed about 6 months ago. Thank you for the tips, although mine is not coming off as easy as your video. thank you
